We are currently recruiting for an Junior Tax Assistant to join our friendly team based in Market Drayton but within a home working/office environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join an in-house Tax Team in a rapidly growing business.


As part of this role, we are offering the exciting opportunity to be able to complete your Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification through our Level 4 Accountancy/Taxation Technician apprenticeship.


The successful candidate will be supported on this development journey over 18 months, in partnership with our partner provider, Kaplan. The programme uses a blended approach between the training provider and hands on training at Müller, and develops knowledge, skills and behaviours in key technical areas such as personal and business taxation; tax calculations; VAT and ethical standards.

Job Purpose


To assist with the preparation of all Indirect and Employment Tax related returns for the Müller and Culina Group and general administration support for the team.


Your challenge:


  • Assist with data collation for the preparation of foreign VAT returns and reclaims.
  • Assist with data collation for the preparation of Alcoholic Ingredients Relief claims and reconciliations.
  • Assist with information gathering for VAT reviews of new products and internal/external competitions.
  • Gathering information for preparation of Plastic Packaging Tax returns.
  • Updating and monitoring of trackers.
  • Assist with tracking and data collection of Short Term Business Visitors.
  • Assist with data collection from HMRC queries and Group requests.
  • Support with the Tax Department’s intranet page content.
  • General tax administration support for the team, including ordering stationary, booking training etc.
  • Take notes of meetings, running reports and sending information requests.


Skills and Qualifications


  • 5 GCSE’s Grade 4 or above (including Maths and English)
  • Ideally Graduating from a Finance or Accountancy Degree
