We are currently recruiting for a Customs Administrator for a Fixed Term of 6 months. We are looking for the role holder to collate data, verify information and liaise with colleagues across the business for the timely submission of customs declarations. To handle all daily Import related administrative tasks and support the wider Customs Team as required.


In this role the key responsibilities will include:
• Liaise with other departments to obtain visibility of expected deliveries and support the Customs Lead to forecast import duty and VAT.
• Monitor deferment account levels.
• Liaise with our Broker regarding UK Imports, check entries for accuracy, deal with queries and ensure paperwork is filed appropriately for audit purposes.
• Support with the reconciliation of deferment account statements.
• Monitor the Customs email inbox, resolve queries or escalate to the Customs Lead as appropriate.
• Support the Customs Lead with audit testing & sampling.
• Assist with obtaining evidence of Origin status.
• Verify accuracy of purchase invoices from Brokers & Vets.
• Raise purchase requisitions and process purchase invoices.
• Complete assigned daily Workflow tasks.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as PowerPoint presentations, excel spreadsheets, typing and filing as required.
• Support the Customs Lead with any ad hoc project work.
• Assist with the reconciliations of UK VAT on Postponed Accounting Statement s as required.
• Regularly review processes to ensure that they remain efficient and fit for purpose.
• Propose suggested improvements to the Customs Lead & work.


Key skills & experience
• Experience with import documentation desirable.
• Systems knowledge (SAP).
• Knowledge of our products list and trade tariff.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Personable team worker.
• Resilient and able to work under pressure to tight timescales.
