Title: Shift Leader

We are looking for a proactive and driven Shift Leader to join our Telford operation.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing both our Process and Warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of production and logistics activities across the site. Leading a team of approximately 16 colleagues, you will coordinate complex operational plans, optimise resources, and ensure products flow seamlessly from manufacturing through to warehouse dispatch.
Working within a highly automated warehouse environment and a fast-paced food manufacturing operation, you will play a critical role in delivering safety, quality, service and cost objectives while driving continuous improvement and colleague engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop teams across both Process and Warehouse operations, creating a culture of safety, accountability and high performance.
- Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of manufacturing and warehouse activities to meet business and customer requirements.
- Coordinate operational plans and resources across both areas to maintain production schedules and warehouse service levels.
- Manage and optimise workflow within a highly automated warehouse environment.
- Drive operational performance against Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People KPIs.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across manufacturing and logistics processes.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
- Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis activities to address operational challenges and minimise downtime.
- Manage colleague performance through coaching, development and performance management processes.
- Deliver effective communication through daily briefings, team meetings and engagement activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing, food production, warehouse, logistics or FMCG environment.
- Experience managing operational teams and delivering performance against KPI targets.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations and how warehouse and logistics functions support production performance.
- Strong planning, organisational and resource management skills.
- Excellent communication, coaching and people management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within an operational environment.
Desirable
- Experience within food manufacturing, dairy, yoghurt or FMCG production environments.
- Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience leading teams within automated warehouse operations.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
