We are currently recruiting for a Shared Service Team Leader Payroll to join our friendly team at Telford. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, you’ll be leading a team to ensure service delivery aligns to differing business requirements, always ensuring full statutory and corporate policy compliance. You’ll have a role in further shaping our shared service model and in driving ongoing process improvements.


In this role the key responsibilities for the Shared Service Team Leader Manager will include:
• Drive the operational delivery of weekly and monthly end to end Payroll services within a complex business with multiple Terms & Conditions
• Managing, coaching and developing existing team members.
• Monitoring of day-to-day transactional work, ensuring quality assurance.
• Analysing and reporting on payroll data.
• Developing and refining existing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
• Initiate and participate in business initiatives, ensuring continued compliance and delivery of service.
• Act as point of escalation regarding advice and support in aspects relating to Payroll activity to customers at all levels, both internal and external.


Shared Service Team Leader Payroll key skills & experience
• Proven experience in management at a similar level.
• Up to date UK Payroll legislative knowledge; knowledge of Irish payroll would be a bonus.
• Highly developed and effective team leadership skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Effective decision-making abilities with a hands-on approach.
• Adaptability, resilience & persistence with a keen desire to support change & drive improvement.
• Interpersonal skills (excellent written and verbal communication skills)
• The ability to understand and deliver to business values.
• Experience of working in a Shared Service environment is desirable but not essential.
• A formal Payroll Management qualification would be desirable.
