The ideal candidate would be an experienced Finance professional, able to manage a team and somebody who is ready for their next career move. You will partner key leads/stakeholders, provide a comprehensive business partner service and develop a high performing team within the UK. Although the role is Monday - Friday 9 am - 5pm, a degree of flexibility will be required to support the site outside of these hours.
Key responsibilities in the role of the Financial Accounting Manager will include:
- Manage a team of 6 including 3 Financial Accountants and 3 Assistant Financial Accountants
- Review and monitor journal entries
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments
- Maintenance and posting of bank accounts including Euro/USD accounts/banking cash
- Manage month end closing activities in-line with deadlines
- Reconciliation of key GL accounts
- Liaising and providing information to the external auditors as required
- Extensive use of Excel spreadsheets to present and analyse key information
- Ownership of VAT and intrastat returns process
- Balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
- Control accounts reconciliation
- Ownership of National Statistics completion
- Working with the Tax department
- Attending month end review meetings
Key skills & experience:
- CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualifications
- 2-3 years post qualified experience
- Ability to manage a team of 6, with potential for future growth
- Proactive and efficient approach to working practices
- Ability to encourage the development and empowerment of the team
- Ability to work with people from both financial and non-financial backgrounds
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of SAP
