Quality Control Technician (Food Manufacturing / QC)
📍 Location: Minsterley (Shrewsbury)
🕐 Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, days (6am – 6pm)
📄 Contract: Permanent, Full-time


We are currently recruiting a Quality Control Technician at our Minsterley site


Working as part of the Quality Control (QC) team, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet microbiological, physical and chemical specifications, maintaining the highest quality standards prior to dispatch to our customers.

You will work across both Microbiology and Analytical areas, while supporting Operations with the investigation and resolution of quality issues to identify root causes and drive improvements. 

 

Key responsibilities
•    Conduct physical and chemical testing of products, semi-finished goods, utilities and chemicals in line with QMP/EMP and approved standards 
•    Maintain the third-party laboratory portal, including product setup and swabbing map updates 
•    Ensure all routine and non-routine testing is completed as required
•    Manage the Daily Product Review (taste panel), including sample preparation and accurate data logging 
•    Manage the collection, labelling and recording of samples for external testing (e.g. microbiological, nutritional, allergen validation, pesticides) 
•    Work with Unit Quality Control Specialists to ensure QC tasks, including GMP audits, are completed to schedule 
•    Log microbiological samples across raw materials, products, utilities and environmental monitoring points 
•    Ensure adherence to sampling schedules, compliance, validation and verification within QMP/EMP 
•    Escalate out-of-specification microbiological results in a timely manner 
•    Complete microbiological complaint timelines and ensure accurate data capture 
•    Support and execute microbiological investigations across the plant
•    Carry out annual shelf-life and nutritional verification of finished products 

 

What we’re looking for
•    Experience within dairy or a relevant food manufacturing environment 
•    HACCP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 3 
•    Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team 
•    Good communication skills (written and verbal) 
•    IT skills including Microsoft Office; SAP experience desirable 
•    Internal auditing experience desirable 
•    Science qualification desirable
