We’re recruiting … Lead Driver Trainer

 

We are currently recruiting a Lead Driver Trainer to join the team supporting our Northampton Depot. Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, developing and administering all areas of driver development and training.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support MMID Health and Safety culture, including local safety campaigns
  • Working with the Compliance Team and Depot Management, support safety roadshows, local driver forums and national events
  • Promote and deliver driver development, to include Safe & Fuel-Efficient Driving aligned to A to G performance indictors
  • Manage Depot Driver CPC periodic training requirements including delivery of class room-based Driver CPC training
  • Support internal LGV training opportunities
  • Coordinate pre-employment driver assessments for both Permanent and Agency drivers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme (DTAS) regulations
  • Coordinate all aspects of new driver induction training and existing driver development training, including vehicle and trailer specific familiarisation
  • Maintain communication between the Drivers and the operational teams to ensure all training requirements are achieved and policies are adhered to
  • Manage driver risk profiling through DCRS and other data sources
  • Manage all driver training records as per company procedures and GDPR rules
  • Support Company SSoW processes and associated documentation relating to driver activity
  • Ensure drivers are familiar and proficient in operating existing and new equipment
  • Using Checkmaster analysis, ensure that all driver vocational licence entitlements are valid including the pre-employment and employed drivers
  • Maintain up to date and accurate data within the Tachomaster analysis compliance system
  • Review drivers EU & RTWTD infringements arranging support, guidance and development training where necessary
  • Work with the MMID Compliance Team to review motor vehicle accidents, ensuring root cause analysis and rectification is carried out
  • Communicate effectively with Driver Trainers, Compliance teams, Transport teams to determine best practice is achieved fully in all areas

 

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an LGV driver
  • A valid LGV C+E (Class 1) Licence that has been held for a minimum of 3 years' is essential
  • Related experience in delivering driver training
  • Presentation skills and experience in delivering class room practical related training
  • Excellent communication skills covering face to face and electronic formats
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise tasks using problem solving skills
  • Understanding of EU & Road Transport Working Time Directive driver’s hours’ regulations
  • Competent in the knowledge and understanding of the use of digital Tachographs
