Muller Market Drayton is recruiting for an Engineering Stores Operative to join the busy Engineering Stores team within the Muller Yogurts and Desserts business.

 

Contract - Full Time, Permanent

Location – Market Drayton

Working Hours - 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary - £32,011.00 per annum

 

In this role, you’ll keep the Engineering Stores running smoothly by receiving, organising and issuing parts and equipment so our Engineers can complete planned maintenance on time. You’ll use SAP to accurately book items in and out, maintain clear stock records and help ensure the right spares are available to keep site assets operating reliably.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Issue and receipt of stores items and update of inventory utilising the Muller ERP stock management system.
  • Maintain weekly material counts, advising management of potential stock-outs/shortages and identifying slow-moving materials.
  • Ensure stock control records are maintained.
  • General stores duties and housekeeping.
  • Responsibility for the goods-in / goods-out process.
  • Process and pay any returns to suppliers as needed.
  • Group stock items by task to ensure timely maintenance activities through the compilation of parts ready for maintenance work to be carried out.

 

Key skills & experience

  • Experience using SAP (or similar) for stores/inventory management, including accurate booking in/out and stock control.
  • Strong attention to detail and a right-first-time approach to data entry and record keeping.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to flag potential stock-outs/shortages early.
  • Self-directed with personal drive; able to prioritise day-to-day tasks in a busy stores environment.
  • Team-working mindset with effective communication skills to support Engineers and wider site stakeholders.
  • Integrity and a commitment to working safely and following site procedures.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to changing priorities and maintenance schedules.
  • A good understanding of stores procedures (goods-in/goods-out, returns to suppliers, housekeeping).
