We are recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel - Employment at our site in Market Drayton, Shropshire. This role sits in the Legal & Compliance team which supports all of Müller’s businesses across the UK & Ireland and works collaboratively with colleagues in other jurisdictions. The role will be focused on providing employment advice to business partners, in particular the HR teams, across Müller’s businesses.  Müller pride ourselves on offering support to help develop your knowledge and skills. Senior Legal Counsel - Employment:  Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice on employment law queries
  • Sharing relevant best practice and learning points
  • Policy review and maintenance, collaborating with our colleagues in HR
  • Devising and delivering training to the business
  • Supporting on contentious and non-contentious matters including, by way of example:
    • Employment contracts
    • Exit processes including redundancy and settlement agreements
    • Advising the business, HR and ER teams on potential disputes
    • TUPE
    • Performance management issues
    • Discipline and grievance processes
  • Managing a case load of employment tribunal claims and related litigation, including:
    • Reviewing claims and advising on them
    • Drafting risk reports
    • Drafting pleadings and witness statements
    • Preparing document bundles
    • Conducting advocacy where appropriate
    • Instructing counsel where appropriate
    • Negotiating and finalising settlements
