Are you passionate about food quality, safety, and continuous improvement? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your expertise makes a real difference? We’re looking for a Quality Control Specialist (QCS) to join our operations in Market Drayton.

The role operates on a 4 on 4 off days only shift pattern (7am-7pm)

What You’ll Do

As a QCS, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things Quality Control, supporting our Unit Team to meet the highest standards in food safety, hygiene, and product excellence. You’ll:

  • Champion quality across the site, ensuring compliance with food law, retailer standards, and GMP.
  • Coach and guide Unit Team members on QC practices and introduce them to QA principles.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including QA teams and Dairy Technologists, to troubleshoot and optimise processes.
  • Lead by example on the shop floor—spotting issues, sharing insights, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Own the QC process—from raw materials to finished products—ensuring everything meets spec and is ready for release.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver QC oversight for testing, logging, and reporting of food and packaging.
  • Support inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure hygienic sampling and accurate data recording across shifts.
  • Be the subject matter expert (SME) in QC, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Promote a positive food safety and quality culture across the Unit.
  • Work closely with MPS Tech and Dairy Process Technologists to optimise processes.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA), SP and CPMU reduction plans.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence under pressure and a passion for continuous learning.
  • IT literacy and the ability to write clear technical reports.
  • Desirable: Experience in dairy/food quality or safety.
  • Desirable: Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
