We are currently recruiting for a Network Operations Senior Analyst to join our friendly team at Market Drayton. We are looking for an experienced individual to play a critical role in helping to define network architecture and best practices for the Muller enterprise and will be responsible for leading projects to develop and implement scalable solutions for LAN / WLAN / WAN / SD-WAN/ Cloud services and ensure that initiatives support the corporate vision.


In this role the key responsibilities will include:
• Advanced knowledge of WAN connectivity, transport types and protocols, including Ethernet point to point and VPN technologies.
• Routing and tunnelling protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN (protocols) and IPSEC
• Strong understanding of high availability protocols such as VRRP, HSRP and LACP.
• Network virtualization technologies including MPLS and VRF. Knowledge of SD-WAN also advantageous
• Strong understanding of QoS and NetFlow, particularly in respect to prioritising VoIP traffic
• Packet analysis with Wireshark
• Good understanding of SolarWinds monitoring tool.
• Ensure the design of WAN, WLAN and LAN are robust, available and fit for future
• Provide Implementation services for all projects that have networking requirements.
• Contribute to definition of the Group Network and Standards.
• Keep up to date with the latest Networking and Security tools that are available.
• Provide 3rd line support for the network infrastructure.
• Deliver project work (both strategic and tactical) in compliance with relevant technical architectures, ensuring solutions are successfully delivered and fit for purpose.
• Provide technical consultancy to infrastructure and development teams where necessary to assist with project delivery and/or problem resolution.
• Provide appropriate training and documentation for any newly deployed systems.
• Perform release management activities including patching, firmware updates and other related activities.
• Provide support for systems out of hours / participate in the Oncall team rota
• Implementing systems changes and improvements using the Change management process.
• In-depth knowledge of following network technologies;
• Switching: Spanning Tree Protocol, VLANs, Trunking, EtherChannel, Packet Analysis, QoS, Catalyst 6500 & 6800, Nexus Data Centre
• Security: ASA Firewalls, Rules Configuration and Troubleshooting.
• Wireless: WLC, Access Point Installation and Support, Wireless Survey
• Wireless Meraki Technology Configuration and Troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of SD-WAN
• Troubleshooting: Application Performance, LAN/WAN Issues


Key skills & experience
• Bachelor
• English (essential) Polish, Italian or German would be beneficial.
• Significant experience in leading and developing a team
• CCIE/CCNP/ Certified (Routing & Switching or Security) experience
• Willingness to travel
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Confident engaging with different levels of personnel in business organisation and IT
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Careful attention to detail
• Security mindset. Assume the world and employees are out to get you and thinking through all the threats and mitigations.
