We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager (Senior Engineer) to join our Market Drayton Dairy. Reporting into the Site Engineering Manager, you will have experience leading teams in high-volume, complex environments and are motivated by the challenges it can bring.

 

This is a Days only Monday - Friday Role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • To ensure all equipment is repaired and maintained to the highest standard.
  • To work closely with Reliability, Methods Engineering, CI and AM teams to deliver reliability improvements.
  • Utilisation of Lean approaches to resolve problems and improve performance.
  • Identify weakness in PM plans and deliver proposals for improvement.
  • Work with Operators and Shift Technicians at a shop floor level to identify and implement standard equipment settings through effective trials , look at best practices and help deliver throughout all of Production.
  • Ensure compliance with Engineering communications systems, Logs SAP PM, BDA, DRA.  
  • Actively lead and be action focused in regard to top loss actions and Maintenance System compliance.
  • Work with Reliability teams to ensure required parts are in place for planned work allocated to shift teams.
  • Work with Site Engineering Manager , Reliability Leaders and Environment, Health and Safety Manager implementing task based risk assessments and SSOW.
  • Deliver world class standards in relation to maintenance control, hygiene and tool box control.
  • Directly manage the shifted Engineering resource and ensure they are effectively utilised on a day to day basis.
  • Maintain regular daily contact with the Engineering Shift and other Engineering resource and provide support and assistance as required according to the Production priorities.
  • Maintain regular daily contact with the Manufacturing Leaders and be fully aware of the production status (actual vs. plan).  Ensuring production log books and Engineers log books are read daily.
  • Responsible to progress monitoring and identifying potential threats to achieving deadlines.
  • Accountable and responsible for the work scope and resource allocation.
  • Formulate and coordinate personal development plans for all relevant staff.
  • Carry out individual performance related assessments at agreed intervals for directly reportable personnel.
  • Delivery of line and factory efficiency/OEE targets.
  • To optimise spend through delivery of available and efficient  machines.
  • Energy focused to optimise and deliver annual targets.
  • Strong focus on Filling and Packaging waste and opportunities to improve.
  • Delivery of required standards in relation to Engineering GMP and food safety standards.

 

 

 

Skills and experience required:

 

  • Possesses knowledge in areas of: Filling and Packing technology.
  • Capability to develop a high performance and service oriented culture within the team.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of complex fast moving clean environments (24/7- short life products)
  • Strong engineering qualifications and background
  • Strong technical bias and has experience in standardising processes and practices,
  • Has excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Team building skills and strong ability to work cross functionally.
  • Action oriented, with ability to drive  and achieve challenging goals.
  • Ability to coach, support and develop the team.
  • Capability to developing a high performance and service oriented culture within the team.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control expenditure.
