We are currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and assistance to all the companies within the Müller UK & Ireland Group, plus wider Group activities where required.


In this role the key responsibilities will include:

  • Part of a team responsible for the provision of legal advice to agreed areas.
  • Provision of legal advice to Procurement, Engineering, HR, IT and other business partners within the Muller UK & Ireland Group and wider Group.
  • Communicating and working with all parts of the Group’s UK and ROI businesses and engaging directly with other stakeholders including suppliers and customers.
  • Working closely with members of the Group Legal & Compliance function as part of a collaborative, flexible and supportive team.
  • Advising on a variety of issues across the Group including intellectual property issues, data protection issues, marketing matters, compliance matters, competition law, commercial disputes, health and safety matters.
  • Negotiating, reviewing, drafting and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts and terms and conditions.
  • Working with Group Legal & Compliance colleagues across the Group’s European businesses
  • Knowledge share and training for other team members, colleagues in L&C and wider business partners.
  • Where necessary, appointing and managing external advisers, particularly in relation to intellectual property, dispute resolution and property related matters.


Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements typically entered into by the Group, including: -

  • Sponsorship and Endorsement Agreements
  • Equipment Supply & Installation Contracts
  • Terms & Conditions of Purchase and Sale
  • Supply Agreements - Goods and Services
  • Co-packing
  • Licensing
  • IT / IP Agreements
  • NDAs


Corporate transactions, including:

  • Mergers, acquisitions and disposals
  • Joint ventures and other collaborations
  • Dispute resolution


Draft policies and educate business partners on a variety of corporate compliance issues, including:

  • Competition law
  • Bribery Act
  • Data protection & document retention
  • Modern Slavery
  • GO issues


Key skills & experience

  • Qualified Solicitor (essential)
  • 2+ PQE (desired)
  • Commercial Contracts experience (essential)
  • IP & Marketing law experience preferred
  • Commercially astute with the ability to prioritise work; get into the detail, identify issues and solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - diplomatic and adept at dealing with demanding clients and timescales.
  • Strong desire to learn, mentor and share knowledge
  • Corporate (e.g. transactional) or Compliance (e.g. GDPR/Data Protection) experience welcomed.
