We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Stores Manager, based at our Market Drayton site. Reporting into the Site Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that a best in class Engineering Stores service is implemented and it supports the needs of the Operations function across the Market Drayton site. The Engineering Stores Manager is also responsible for all day to day stores services across the site.


In this role the key responsibilities will include:


  • Supporting SAP MM and PM programmes, working within the Central Team and Stores (50/50)
  • Spare parts overhaul management (including quality inspections, implementation of supporting systems and COSHH compliance)
  • Contract control & consignment stock management
  • Identification of obsolete stock
  • Evaluation of equipment parts capability and durability (jncluding the re-sourcing of spares to deliver cost savings)
  • Valuation of purchased parts
  • Liaison with Engineering projects to capture and cater for incoming parts  requirements to ensure availability post commissioning
  • Rationalisation of existing stores stock holding without impacting on spares availability
  • Optimisation of third part equipment specifications
  • Tracking stores requests and liasing with Engineering Technicians on stock requirements
  • Utilising specialist engineering expertise to advise cross functional business parties on appropriate parts solution
  • Day to day management of a team of Stores Operatives
  • Ensure that all members of team have a personal development plan in place and enable plans to mature
  • Capability to developing a high performance and service oriented culture within the team.
  • Ability to take strategic view and network cross functionally as member of the operations team.
  • Acting as Champion for instilling high levels of personal safety awareness amongst department, striving for changes in systems & procedures to ensure full compliance with safety, health, quality and environmental standards / measures
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely payment of invoices


Key skills & experience:


  • At least 5 years engineering stores experience in a complex, fast paced operation
  • Highly proficient on SAP
  • A Dairy, Brewing, Drinks or Pharma background is beneficial but not essential
  • Action oriented, with ability to drive accountability within the team to achieve challenging goals.
  • Accomplished manager and leader, with ability to coach, support and develop the team.
  • Capability to develop a high performance and service oriented culture within the team.
  • Ability to take strategic view and network cross functionally
  • Commitment to achievement of KPI's and budgetary control
  • Structured and pragmatic approach
