We are currently recruiting for Customs Administrators for a Fixed Term of 6 months. Please note that the shift pattern is 5 days on, 3 days off.  8-5pm for the first four days and 8-4pm for the fifth day. We are looking for you to collate data, verify information and liaise with colleagues across the business for the timely submission of customs declarations. To handle all daily Exports related administrative tasks and support the wider Customs Team as required.

 

In this role the key responsibilities will include:
• Liaise with Official Vets to obtain Export Health Certificates for export loads as required.
• Apply for batch Export Health Certificates to maintain continual supply.
• Prepare Export Instructions & pro forma invoices as required.
• Upload data to SPOT / TSS systems, including supporting documents.
• Ensure original copies of documents are in the correct locations.
• Liaise with Customs Brokers, Vets, Hauliers and all relevant authorities to ensure all the appropriate documentation for export, is correct and completed within a tight timeline.
• Support the Imports Team with administrative tasks associated with expected deliveries and imports.
• Monitor the Exports email inbox, resolve queries or escalate to the Customs Team Leader as appropriate.
• Support the Customs Adviser with audit testing & sampling if required.
• Regularly review processes to ensure they remain efficient and fit for purpose.
• Propose suggested improvements to the Customs Team Leader and work with them to implement.

 

Key skills & experience
• Experience with import / export documentation desirable.
• Systems knowledge (SAP).
• Knowledge of our products list and trade tariff.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Personable team worker.
• Resilient and able to work under pressure to tight timescales.
