The Market Drayton factory is at the start of an exciting journey of continuous improvement. We have launched our WCM programme, and are looking for a CI Engineer to help us shape our plans and support our operational teams deliver superior results.


We have a full agenda over the next 5 years, including implementing Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance and Focussed Improvement workstreams. We are looking for a CI Engineer who has had previous experience and success implementing the relevant tools and techniques, and is able to take a leading and coaching role in deploying the tools at all levels of the factory.


The CI Engineer will play a key role in driving safety, quality, service and cost performance. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and co-ordinate the continuouos improvement approach in a significant section of the factory, identifying opportunities and then ensuring imrpovements are delivered sustainably. For example, this may include becoming the CI lead for a range of filling lines, or becoming the expert for a particular operation across multiple lines, driving performance and ensuring best practice is shared and implemented across them all. 


Reporting to the Site Continuous Improvement Manager, as the subject matter expert you will be working alongside the WCM pillar leaders, helping to shape and develop the pillar route content, working with pillar members to build robust standards, and coaching and leading improvement teams to deliver sustainable results. You will work alongside the operational and engineering teams, building their CI and WCM capability and growing technical expertise in the equipment.


This role is suitable for someone who enjoys a challenge and is able to work under their own initiative and at pace. You will be working with all levels of the factory, therefore great communication skills are a must as well as an ability to inspire and motivate people. Our operation is 24/7 therefore the successful individual would need to be flexible around the hours they work, although nominally this is a days based role.


Requirements of the role include:

  • HND or higher qualified in an engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing World Class Manufacturing with great results.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to deliver sustainable results through teams
  • Excellent facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ideally possess a CI qualification e.g. Lean Green Belt.
  • High level of computer literacy.
