We are currently recruiting for a Senior Communications Manager (primarily internal comms, although some external comms will be required) to work within our Communications Team, focusing on our Müller Yogurts & Desserts business, home to famous brands like Müller Corner, Müllerlight and Müller Rice.

 

It’s a rare opportunity to join an exciting team, and we’re looking for a highly qualified and experienced individual to help us deliver communications outputs that contribute to the overall business unit plans. The team is looking for someone to provide strategic input, advice and guidance, helping the business achieve its objectives through effective and engaging communications. 

 

We offer hybrid working between our offices in Market Drayton and home.

 

Senior Communications Manager – Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic lead, develop and execute internal communications strategy, to drive employee engagement
  • Deputise for head of communications as and when required 
  • Act as a specialist advisor to senior teams and colleagues. Support, advise and constructively challenge the leadership team using best practice communications knowledge and experience
  • Your role will involve ensuring the existing suite of well received internal communications channels continue to deliver for the business, while continually exploring opportunities for improvement
  • Create compelling and engaging content for use across a range of channels – online and in person
  • Interpret business needs and create, deliver and measure the effectiveness of targeted internal communications strategy and plans
  • Support the delivery of business wide events, update calls, briefings and leadership conferences
  • Actively monitor analytics, feedback, insight and sentiment to drive constant improvement
  • Deliver aligned, consistent communication within a matrix business structure
  • Support, and lead where necessary, on specific business external communications activity, such as media relations, public affairs, crisis management.

Senior Communications Manager - Key skills and experience:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in strategic corporate communications role is essential
  • In depth knowledge of internal communications
  • Experience working in external corporate communications
  • Experience of employee engagement
  • Confident individual – keen to challenge themselves
  • Confident developing communications plans, identifying the most effective channels and tools to engage audiences and maximise reach
  • Self-motivated and delivery focused
  • Strong team player
  • Great project and event management capability/expertise
  • Experience of change management
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to simplify and interpret complex information and communicative it effectively
  • First-class writing skills, with the ability to edit, proof, and adapt messages and materials for various formats, channels and audiences
  • Experience of digital channels such as intranet, blogs and video (video/photo editing capability would be desirable)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan and prioritise to multiple deadlines
  • Ability to listen and provide communications counsel, provide constructive challenge where necessary and offer advice to senior stakeholders, taking best practice into account
  • Structured and organised approach in planning and delivery
  • Office 365 SharePoint (intranet)
  • Keen eye for design beneficial: PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, Office 365 products, Canva
  • Happy to explore new digital solutions
  • Experience in managing agencies and other external suppliers
  • Ability to identify potential risk and reputation issues early and then develop successful strategies to mitigate them
