Apprenticeship Health and Safety Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for a Apprenticeship Health and Safety Coordinator to join our growing team in a flexible hybrid/homeworking environment with some requirements to travel throughout the UK and Continent.


Job Purpose


The purpose of this role is to support the group H&S team in delivering the Müller Group H&S Strategy. In this role you will support, coordinate and administer the organisation H&S management system across the entire group.

The H&S coordinator will work very closely with the central team to ensure the effectiveness of the management system. A team player, excellent communication skills (verbal and written) the H&S coordinator will have a clear road map to becoming a successful H&S leader of the future.


You will study hard towards achieving a Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Technician Apprenticeship whilst gaining hands on experience in your role as a H&S coordinator. Additionally there will be opportunities for secondment across the organisation to support your learning.


This apprenticeship is equivalent to two A-levels and takes 18-24 months to complete. Upon completion learners will be able to join the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at TechIOSH level.


What you will learn

By the end of the apprenticeship you will be able to:


  • Present information or training in an assertive, engaging way
  • Work with others well in a team and lead by example in a collaborative way
  • assist in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the OHSMS
  • Assist and/or manage the investigation of H&S events
  • Plan and have systems in place to manage change


How you will be assessed

Your apprenticeship will be assessed in a number of ways including:


  • Assessment of knowledge through an exam using multiple choice and short answer questions
  • Testing of knowledge, skills and behaviours evidenced in a work project with a presentation
  • Professional discussion based around a portfolio of work to assess overall achievement


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain the H&S hub SharePoint site
  • Administer H&S training on the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Manage the group H&S reporting system and data records
  • Collate accurate H&S information and data
  • Support the production of H&S reports and presentations


Essential Skills


  • The desire to work towards OAL Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician status.
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Good GCSEs and A-Levels
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Continent
