The ideal candidate would be an experienced Finance professional, who will provide timely and accurate costing information for commercial use, maintain integrity of data and control for all prime costs across the business, support and guide FCs in related activities.  Oversee forecasting in relation to prime cost and provide support on related projects.

Key responsibilities in the role of the Management Accountant – Manufacturing, will include:

 

Costings:

Provide costings for tenders and commercial scenarios as required, working in close contact with the commercial teams.

Support costings where needed for butter and ingredients products and act as a back-up resource for these areas

Work with other areas of the business, including Group on specific reviews and alignment activities

Team Engagement:

Work with the wider controlling function to ensure good communications, and effective co-ordination of requirements that impact the function as a whole

Act as the key point of co-ordination for prime costs within SAP for the Manufacturing FC team and support them in day to day activities

Embrace changes in systems and processes and ensure they can be effectively applied in the manufacturing environment

Monthly Business Analysis & Progression:

Provide the costing analysis and product P&L and run the SAP Products Analysis call on working day 5.

Be instrumental in understanding and improving material variances at each site, actively drive improvement in conjunction with the FCs.

Run the Stock and Systems Integrity monthly meetings, ensuring continued progress in all action areas in conjunction with Operations, Planning and Finance

Data Maintenance:

Use SAP outputs to review for issues in product costings, BoMs and pricing, actively searching these out and drive resolution in conjunction with the site FCs and central data functions.

Perform monthly routines to ensure updates are made on costing runs for material pricing updates, raw material revaluation and commercial pricing.

Share knowledge and learnings with other team members to ensure consistency and improvement.

Challenge results and anomalies with the sites to ensure high quality of information.

Monitor open Purchase Orders on cost centres across the business and prompt action to control levels along with parked invoices and outstanding goods receipts

Budget/Forecast Process:

Be the key resource to ensure smooth and complete running of the forecast and budget process in relation to prime costs and the interaction with commercial teams

Support the Head of Financial Controlling Manufacturing throughout the forecast and budget processes

 

Key skills & experience:

  • SAP user (CO, PA, PC, OM)
  • Manufacturing costing experience, ideally in the FMCG environment
  • Ability to operate at all levels across the business
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills, able to tailor communications to the audience involved
  • Excellent IT and systems knowledge and experience (SAP and Excel)
  • Organised and able to prioritise work
  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA (newly qualified or part qualified)
  • Proactive and efficient approach to working practices
  • Ability to work with people from both financial and non-financial backgrounds
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Ability to influence
  • Strong team player, but equally comfortable to work on their own
