About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead our Droitwich Logistics team. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the cost-efficient delivery of finished milk products while maintaining exceptional service standards. You’ll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.

 

Operations Manager  Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Manage transport operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.
  • Deliver against KPIs and site targets.
  • Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.
  • Budget responsibility.
  • Contingency planning and incident control.
  • Manage people, including performance reviews, development, coaching, employee relations and succession plans.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of haulage legislation and employment law.
  • ICT proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Transport operational leadership (essential)
  • Licence CPC Certification (essential)
  • IOSH Certification (desirable)
  • Experience in milk or food logistics (desirable)
