Title:  Dairy Management Trainee (Level 6 Apprenticeship)

We are recruiting for a Dairy Management Trainee (Level 6 Apprenticeship – supported by Lincoln University) as part of our team in Droitwich.  The successful applicant could already be working in the business and may want to build on their career.  They will gain an understanding of how to oversee the manufacturing process to make sure that performance output meets customer expectations and is cost-effective.  This will include planning manufacturing schedules, monitoring operations and quality assurance.  Ultimately, you will be training to become responsible for the manufacture of safe goods in a safe environment.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Pre-production planning to support in developing and controlling the production of raw materials into finished products, whilst monitoring production costs
  • Asset Management: oversee maintenance of manufacturing machinery and manage process, filling/packing, and cleaning plant operations in accordance with procedures and Health and Safety
  • Involvement in and leading on Continuous Improvement projects, project management and tests and trial activities
  • Lead fault finding and timely corrective action inline with food safety standards
  • Strive to achieve the highest quality product, highlighting any concerns and ensuring products and volumes are in accordance with specifications and targets
  • People management – hiring and training; performance monitoring.  Act as a role model

 

Key skills & experience:

  • You may already be working in the business, with relevant experience in the industry
  • Ideally GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and a Science, however, these qualifications should not deter you from applying
  • Ability to analyse problems
  • Strong desire to be a leader
  • Proactive approach
  • Enjoy working within a team
