We are currently making over 1.2 million deliveries every week and in these challenging times, our customers are relying on us now more than ever. As a business we need to continue to do our part in #feedthenation, delivering over 200 essential products overnight to customers doorsteps by 7am.

 

Due to this exceptional demand, we are looking for people who can play their part in this by joining our new logistics team based in Camberley as a Junior Planning Analyst.

 

The Junior Planning Analyst is a newly established position, working as part of a small team you will take full ownership of the operational route planning activities across our network of 50 Fulfilment Centres. The role will be initially on a 6 month fixed term contract. Within this position occasional travel to other sites will be expected within standard office hours, however some adhoc evening and weekend work may be required with time off in lieu.

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Analysing data sets and planning circa 500 routes per day served by 25 Fulfilment Centres using a mixture of electric and diesel vehicles while balancing the workload across drivers
  • Developing strong and effective working relationships with Operational leaders and other Commercial colleagues to gain support to drive through operational improvements
  • Incorporating new areas and postcodes as they are added either through expansion of the Milk & More serving area or new property development by updating all necessary systems
  • Making sure that operational planning is focused on the day to day management of routes, taking account of customer changes within a route while respecting the delivery cut-off time of 7am, along with all necessary parameters
  • Ensuring all changes to routes are made with no disruption to the delivery service
  • Working collaboratively with the Operations Team (including Fleet) Finance, Marketing and Customer Service to ensure consistency of service standards and tracking of efficiency improvements
  • Working with the business to improve efficiencies by moving customers between adjacent fulfilment centres or changing customers delivery days. This will involve use of multiple systems to ensure smooth changes and minimal customer impact

 

Key Skills & Experience:

 

Essential:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to identify and drive continuous improvements within plans
  • Ability to adapt and embrace new ways of working
  • Organised way of working with a natural inclination for analytical planning
  • Excellent IT and navigational skills throughout excel and other similar applications

 

Desirable:

  • Good understanding of fulfilment centres distribution and systems
  • Understanding of Transport Planning tools and techniques
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Ability to analysis and communicate financial information related to routing and logistics
  • Mathematics
  • Previous experience in similar role

 

Hours, Salary & Company Benefits:

  • Salary of up to £27,000 per annum
